Report a crypto scam to the police

A police report is what turns a freeze into a return. Here is where to report, and what to bring.

Exchanges and stablecoin issuers act much faster when a police force asks them to. Reporting also creates the official record you need if funds are ever returned.

Where to report

Country Where Guide
United Arab Emirates Dubai Police eCrime platform, or your local police station Report in the UAE
United States FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) Coming soon
United Kingdom The national fraud reporting service Coming soon
Saudi Arabia Local police and the national cybercrime reporting channels Coming soon

If your country is not listed, report to your local police and say it is online fraud involving cryptocurrency.

What to bring

  • Your evidence pack: the trail, the transaction hashes, the wallets.
  • Screenshots of all messages with the scammer, and the website or app they used.
  • Your ID and the dates and amounts of every payment.

After you report

Write down the case or reference number. Add it to your freeze requests: many exchanges will only act once they have it.
