Crypto scam evidence checklist: what to collect

Collect these items now, before anything is deleted.

Checklist

  • Every payment you sent: date, amount, coin, chain, and transaction hash.
  • Your own wallet address and every address you paid.
  • Screenshots of all messages, with the scammer's name, number or profile link visible.
  • Screenshots of the website or app, including its web address and any "balance" it showed you.
  • Emails and any documents they sent (contracts, certificates, "withdrawal fee" demands).
  • Bank or card statements, if you bought the crypto for this.
  • A short timeline in your own words: how you met, what was promised, what you paid.

Tips

  • Do not edit or crop screenshots in a way that hides the date or the sender.
  • Save files in one folder and back it up.
  • ChainFreeze adds the blockchain trail for you, so you only need the items above. See the evidence pack.
