Binance hack, October 2026

About $6.3 billion was stolen from Binance on 30 October 2026. Around $3 billion was frozen within days.

What happened

On 30 October 2026 attackers took about $6.3 billion in crypto from Binance. Investigators attributed the attack to TraderTraitor, a group linked to North Korea.

What was frozen

Around $3 billion was frozen, more than $2.3 billion of it by the stablecoin issuers Tether and Circle. It shows how fast issuers can act when funds are held in USDT or USDC.

What it means for you

Binance says its customers will be covered. If you lost money in a different scam, the lesson is the same: freezes happen when funds are found fast. Trace your funds.
